Wanna Buy a Refurb Kindle?

This is a Nexus 7, not a Kindle HD — and that’s only the beginning of what’s better about it than the Kindle HD.

Looking to take the plunge into eReaders but don’t want to spend so much? No worries, because Amazon kinda sorta launched a refurb Kindle page. I say “kinda sorta” because it’s a bit underground, isn’t it? I mean, take a look at that page and you’re not seeing all the usual things you see on Amazon. There’s no left sidebar and suggested items and all that stuff. It may be one of those “we’ll test this out and see how it does” kinds of things.

Either way, you can get yourself a standard Kindle grey for $59, which is $10 off the price of new. The Paperwhite is available for $104. They’ve even got Kindle Fire HDs, you know, if you wanted one of those. (Don’t. Just…. just don’t. I’m a professional. Take my word on this. Take all the money you’d have spent on a Kindle Fire HD and go buy a Google Nexus 7. You’ll be 6,000 times happier for the same money.)

Anyway this is a pretty decent way to get into eReaders. I personally carry the Kindle grey and love it and I bought it secondhand too. (Granted I found mine on Craigslist, but you can buy direct from Amazon if you’re not into that scene.)
