It may not be obvious, but I named this blog after a quote from one of my heroes, Dr. Carl Sagan.
All of the books in the world contain no more information than is broadcast as video in a single large American city in a single year. Not all bits have equal value.
That was one of the impetuses for starting this blog and this website. I don’t write as often as I’d like here, especially within the last couple of months. However, I intend to fix that with some semi- regular updates that, while they may not be lengthy essays, they are indeed applicable to the library world and, hopefully, have some value. So, with that in mind, here’s another inspiration from Dr. Sagan on the nature of books and magic.
